ABOUT
Nist Collection is a San Francisco based company founded and created
by Nihat Karaarslan. Nihat grew up in a small Turkish village on the Black Sea Coast called Akinci and this is
where his love of nature and tradition became instilled. His mother was a great influence on him as
she introduced him to the hand-made washcloths that his sisters and cousins now make for Nist Collection.

Before moving to San Francisco in 2011, Nihat spent over a decade
living in Istanbul where he was a visual designer for Zara and then a regional manager for Tchibo Coffee.
In San Francisco, he continues to work as a manager at the Kitchen Istanbul restaurant, as well as being company
manager for Terror Vault, the immersive haunted attraction at the old San Francisco Mint Building.

The mission of NIST Collection is to create products that celebrate the rich and luxurious culture of the
Turkish Hamam experience. Our soaps, towels, clothing, and hand-made crocheted wash-cloths
all come from Turkey. NIST Collection specifically employs Turkish women traditionally unable to work outside
the home who are in need of their own financial independence.
